binangkalHow to make Binangkal:

Binangkal is round , shaped from dough and covered with sesame seeds and is a popular Cebu delicacy.

Makes 30-35 pcs.

3 cups All purpose Flour

1 Tsp Baking Soda

1 Tbsp + 1 tsp Baking Powder

1 pc egg

1 cup Brown Sugar packed

1/4 cup Oil

3/4 cup Liquid (1/2 cup water +1/4 cup evaporated Milk

Sesame Seeds (hunga)

Oil for frying


1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and brown sugar. Make a well in the center and add the beaten egg, oil and liquid. Blend but so not over mix.

2. Form into balls. Dip in water. Roll in sesame seeds and roll again in palm of hands so seeds will stick to the ball. Arrange balls on lightly greased cookies sheets.

3. Fry in hot oil. Drain
