Salabat Tea – is a typical Filipino drink made with ginger.
The translation of the tagalog word Sabat litteraly means Tea in English. Since Ginger has many health benefits, most filipinos drink Sabat when they’re having fever, soar throat or when it’s cold.

brown sugar
1. Pound 2 inches of fresh ginger.
2. Boil in 4 cups of water with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar for 7-8 minutes.
3. Serve hot, ideally with a rice-based Filipino delicacy, but tastes great with most pastries.
